Toronto, Ontario, Canada- June 16th, 2022, Toronto, Ontario, Canada- This week Rockmass Technologies CEO and co-founder Shelby Yee were one of two recipients honoured with the Young Mining Professionals of the Year (YMP) award during the Peter Munk & Eira Thomas annual awards ceremony. These awards recognize two mining professionals under forty who have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and innovative thinking and provided value to their companies and shareholders. Winners are decided by a global panel of judges from YMP chapters across Canada, Australia and the UK. Competition for the award was very close this year says Stephen Stewart, chairman of YMP, but adds that Yee was a clear choice for the award. “Shelby went out on a limb and took a risk creating her own company. But she’s really moved the needle in developing an innovative technology to drive the industry forward and fully deserved to win the award.” “I am honoured to be recognized by The Northern Miner and YMP for the strides RockMass Technologies has made in the mining industry and would like to congratulate my counterpart Alex Dorsch as the first-ever Australian YMP recipient,” says Yee. Shelby Yee cofounded RockMass Technologies in 2016 with Queen’s University alumni Matthew Gubasta, President, and Stuart Bourne, CTO. Since then, Rockmass Technologies has expanded to serve the world’s largest mining companies across five continents. Their flagship product The Mapper enables geologists and geotechnical engineers to automate the collection and processing of geotechnical data.
